John Muir was on the payroll of Harriman, who had owned the Union Pacific Railroad. After Yosemite was withdrawn, he got the Monopoly, the only route to transport people into Yosemite. So, you know, it's kind of this history that people in the Conservation Movement don't like to talk about because they like to believe that they were founded with a good purpose and cause.
