Chad Green's Contract Is a 'Peak Option'

Chad Green has signed a two-year, eight point five million dollar guarantee from the Blue Jays. The deal is anything but that simple; there's like an order of operations here. He could either pick that up and then be a Blue Jays for 2024. Or he can decline that option, in which case there is another contingent option. So I really had to look at a diagram, basically, to understand how this worked.
