What Is the Difference Between Norse and Danish?
Despite some different dialects and local accents, it was basically mutually comprehensible all around Scandinavia. Despite some divergence over time, the modern Scandinavian languages are still extremely close to one another. Overwhelmingly, Norse people identified themselves in local terms as members of a particular clan,. They had no collective ethnonim, apart from simply Norsemen or some variation on Norse folk.
