In 19 36, frank lloyd wright had long wanted to make a more democratic form of housing. Herbert and catherine jacobs were the first clients that ever asked him to build a low coust house. Wright could tell them his philosophy and teach them how to live well through good architecturet then he said, do you really want a five thousand dollar house? Can you build one in today's money? Five thousand dollars is about 85 thousands dollars. That's a pretty reasonably priced house in most real estate markets.
