The Power of Will
He says, each of these fundamental impulses once developed, necessarily seeks its own satisfaction. It is therefore the will that relates both impulses as a power, which is the basis of reality. Neither of the two impulses can act of themselves as a power against the other. So I took that to be that the will is the active force that motivates both those impulses. And it is through acts of will that is the core of our aesthetic drive.
