Sally Rooney: A Microcosmic Novel
A lot of normal people is set at a similarly prestigious university, Trinity College in Dublin. A lot of people that I was studying with at Oxford had been to Trinity College Dublin for their undergraduate degrees and kind of knew Sally a bit from because it's a small world. And so very much from the beginning, it was clear that this was a microcosmic novel that was going to reverberate around the world. Every country has the equivalent of a Trinity College Dublin or every country. Australia, it's like Sydney, uni, Melbourne, uni and those elite institutions the same kind of everywhere.
