The idea is you put your nose down and you work really hard for little or no money for a really long time but if you're good you might win the lottery, he says. "I think that that's definitely a lurking false utopian promise which is why I look to like John Mulaney for instance who I still think he is funny at a technical level" He also talks about how we use comedy in relation to our work lives as workers listening to comedy podcasts while doing work or caring for someone.
