What you hold on to metaphysically and philosophically is oftentimes presupposed by the confessions rather than something that is explicitly there. The usefulness for instance of Aristotelianism and Platonism over other modes of philosophy is necessitated by how we read and how we inhabit the confession perhaps. Also culture is another parallel of this. In what way do we see the relation between the church and the world? Is it what model do you use? It's not explicitly laid out in the confession but oftentimes is presupposed by confessional churches.
