Lightning: A Slow Dumb Thing?

A lot of people see Bitcoin as a slow dumb thing and lightning as something they perceive doesn't work. What works most for me is I don't even go and tell them anything. They see it working and then they get interested. And then we can start to have a conversation about what's happening on the back end.
