In face books defense, it is impossible to plete police billions of people using a platform. So i don't think that they're responsible for a billion people's behavior on their platform. When an editor looks at something and says, this should be on the home page of the new york times or c nd n, they now have inherited a some amount of responsibility for that content. I think th wher we'll wind up is the algorithm having to explain why it put something up there ahead of you. If they had to explain the algorithm, you'd be basely educating the public on why they're seeing that, and then giving them ability to turn it off. That is
