The state is the monopoly on violence. You couldn't kill a fuckand deer in its territory. If you think that the government doesn't exist, or the government's inteficiant, or thegovernment's fallen apart, don't pay it. Mark as t talk about this lot. The peasants have obligations to the knights and to ther and o their nobles, but in return, they get protection.
