Let the Dead Bury Their Dead
In some of the Semitic languages, this idea of wait until I bury my father is a way of asking for a delay. And Jesus would sound pretty harsh to say, let the dead bury their dead. One man says, I'll follow you, whether ever you go and he says, really, I don't have a home. Are you really going to follow me there?
