The Tax Cuts Are a Big Opportunity Cost to the Budget

The most populous job in Australia is bottle shop attendance. This is an area where you get a lot of people working short hours casual work to be brutal by getting zero. The statutory tax cuts only start kicking in once you earn over 45,000. There's nothing for anyone under that. We could make undergraduate university education free for domestic students at the cost of $30 billion over the next 10 years. And we could also give a wage rise to aged care workers and child care workers who we know are severely underpaid. Eliza: These tax cuts are one of the most expensive budget announcements ever made in Australia ever.
