How to Get From Head to Heart With a Question
There's an emotional ebb and flow to the sermon. I think you begin a sermon by wanting to become friends with your audience. Acknowledging there's a broken heart on every pew, acknowledges some people in church who don't want to be acknowledging people or passing through tough times. Let's just spend a few moments talking through this topic. And then I think it works, at least for me, to speak to the head for a few minutes and then speak to the heart for a several minutes.
