The Rise and Fall of AHL
In the early days of AHL, we did a number of different things. Michael was already keen on commercializing that piece of software. I meanwhile spent a fair bit of time using the software to provide consultancy services for financial businesses. And you could fairly easily model the behavior and the profitability of investment banks. They went wide-eyed because we basically modeled their business. We didn't believe ourselves, but everyone thought we were completely nuts by and large.
