Is the Caliphate Not a Theocracy?
The caliphate is not a theocracy, says Shaddeq. Most Western scholars categorize Islamic government historically as non-theocratic with few exceptions,. There are some regimes which come close to being theocracy relatively limited but Sunni and caliphate were not theocratic. They were sometimes they're thought of as more nomocratic, meaning that it was a rule of law or Sharia.
