We don't have to actually empathize. Sometimes we won't empathize because it'll seem too unreasonable and wrong. But at least except and be open to don't try to say too much. Trust, accept and acknowledge from that place. Ok, number three, this was what mogda gerber called her magic word, wait. And the reason to wait is because we have basic trust in our baby, or child of any age, as competent and able. Our child's play and their experimentation, what they're doing when they're learning through play, learning how to use an object, this belongs to them.
