Grant's Plans for the Shenandoah Campaign
Grant has a couple of periphral campaigns planned in virginia. He's going to send an army into the shenandoah valley, which he hopes will keep confederates from using the shannandoa valley to distract from his main campaign. Grant is entirely open to the possibility that while he is up here in northrf virginia, directly supervising the army of the potomac, these guys will win the war. It might happen. And during a lose northern virginia, at most of the state, really.
