The Cost of a Third Generation Nuclear Reactor
The main reason that nuclear power plants are so expensive is that they operate at really high pressure. Third generation reactors can be 170 times atmospheric pressure, which means your steel better be super thin. These things use substantially less material and generate between 80 to 90 percent less waste as well. They're really, really fascinating. And I think they have a huge bright future ahead.
