Austin Butler alone had 90 costume changes in the film. They shot on Alexa 65 millimeter, and Walker described that as helping achieve the level of intimacy she was after. Filming ran into early 2021 in the end, pushing the planned release date back from November 5, 2021 to June 3, 2022.
