The Impact of the Raffi Index on Portfolio Performance
One of my favorite papers ever fundamental indexation rebalancing assumptions and performance not the sexiest title I'll be honest it took me a long time to find that but this was published back in 2010. It looked at Rob Arnott's fundamental indexing and asked the question well what happens if you change the date in which this index rebalanced? In 2009 the index outperformed its benchmark by 10 percentage points if done in March and actually underperformed the benchmark if it had rebalanced in September Which is kind of mind blowing to think about.
