The Role of T-Cell Immunotherapies in the Treatment of Relapsed AML
Allogeneic hematopoietic stem cell transplant, or aloelecti, is a very effective and potentially curative strategy in patients with acute myeloid leukemia. Yet relapse of AML is one of the most common and significant adverse effects seen following aloe HCT. There has been considerable research to identify mechanisms of immune escape from graft versus leukemia effects that may precipitate relapse. One such mechanism could be down regulation of MHC Class II surface expression on AML blasts.
