Biforman saw the tree at Eden and receiving Torah at Sinai as two versions of the same thing. In both cases, this relationship began with a Yud-K-Vav-K connection. This stay-away stage was meant to lace our love with respect. Only when love and respect were both formed could we move on to the next stage: come close.
