CPAP or VIPAP in Obese Patients?
Obese patients need high intra-terratic pressure to counteract the effect of the weight of the chest wall. Cardiogenic pulmonary dema, I would also recommend CPAP or VIPAP if the patient is hypercabnic as the first line treatment. In these patients, a small level of pussy pressure is extremely useful.
