Do You Think People Need Narratives to Function Properly?

Do you think that people need narratives to function properly psychologically? Yes, i think so. There are somewo thinkt that we understand experience as narrative,. That we understand ourselves as narrative. But i don't think that's the case. I'm with e with the overproduction of over availablitof stories. The benefit one gets from immersing oneself in stories must plateau at a certain point. And it could be that there is something like a kind of psychological diabetes.
