i qualified for and within two weeks of the moment of that morning when i woke up, i was enrolled in a clinical trial. The only treatment being explored right then for this rare condition is known as n a i o n. For three months in a row, once a month, i had to go into the hospital and get an injection into the affected eye. And so i lived at home with all these syringes and vials and a sharp's container. It was a pretty stark physical reminder that my life had definitely changed.
