How to Teach a Neural Network to Complete a Pattern Like a Word

The idea of a single neuron for everything that we cognize turns out to have profound limits. Instead, start thinking about the entire pattern of activation is corresponding to a cognizable entity like a phoneme or a word and so on. And it then starts to appear that you actually need a layer of neurons that sort of somehow represents the combinations of elements in the input and then feedback support for kind of repeated sub patterns over those combinations.
