Is There a Similarity Between Equity and Fixed Income?
There are some overlaps between fixed income and equity, but i think it's important to start with first principles. I think the closest relation to equities is corporate credit. But looking in more detail, the corporat bond investor and the equity investor have a different claims on the firm's assets. So again, it comes back to this thesis of a common framework in terms of thinking about signal categories, perhaps, but always the details being different.
