In equilibrium, investor returns equal the cost of capital. Some campaigners claim both to serious investors make that mistake. And indeed some people want to put actually well as an investor, you should be willing to sacrifice some financial returns to make the planet a couple of degrees cooler. But if so, just be upfront about this and say, well, there are trade offs sometimes decarbonization is costly.
