How Long Does a Bat Live in the Wild?

The longest lived wild bat, is reported to be forty one years. That'st an animal that's about a fifth the size of a mouse. The fact that a bat can live over 40 years in the wild strikes me as much more impressive than if it lived 60 years in a cage somewhere. Nature has discovered some tricks that some animals use to combat fundamental aging processes better than we do. And i think that a key for us developing interventions that improve human aging. We already age many, many, many times more successfully than any of the standard laboratory models like mice or flies.
