The Holy Grail of AI

There is no singular problem that there is sort of like a holy grail of AI, which is the, can we get something to be self aware and why are they trying to mess with that? That's the holy grail. How would you test if it's self aware? I don't know. Have it where something weird and see if it gets embarrassed? I guess you could do like self recognition tests in a mirror. Oh, dang. What's the last hurdle they like? What is the big hurdle right now for AI taking the next step? Are they on it? What's the problem? They're able to figure out, you know what I mean?
