The Most Important Form of MR for Psychotherapy
The most important type of memory is memory of core beliefs or schemas or mental models that were formed in emotionally intense experiences. Using MR to produce profound unlearning is a special case of MR and a particular process of MR. But it's the most important form of MR for psychotherapy because unlearning produces transformational change, which is the most effective outcome of therapy. The client I'm going to use for this case example is a man in his mid 40s. He'll call him Gary.
