Inhibition of Pain Signals by Local Inhibitors in the Spinal Cord
When you have normal kind of non-painful stimuli in a particular region, that helps you inhibit the painful stimuli from that region through these local inhibitory neurons. So it's all quite interesting and more complicated than you might initially think. But then I'm going to add another spanner to the works here and talk about another important aspect of modulation of pain, which is the function of opioids.
