After watergate, conspiracy theories became something they're not really supposed to be. Sherman skolnick was an investigator in chicago who was paralyzed by poleo at age six. He made headlines locally when he helped expose corruption on the illinois supreme court. In 19 76, a paper back imprint of new american library published a book called government by gun play. It positioned the rise of conspiracy theory as an expression of left wing ideas left over from the 19 sixties.
