I think where it comes from my guess is that we evolved as prey items so at one point in our history were primates and animals with pointy teeth naturally elicit a greater panic reaction then do chef's knives or motor vehicles or windex in the home things which actually objectively are much more likely to harm and kill us. I remember taking away a second and this is just as an eminently solvable problem with you know very good prognosis easy to solve tends not to recur. We need to question why people overreact to aggressive dogs but especially when they progress against humans versus comparable hazards in daily life.
