Arresting mc duff is a completely different situation than arresting roy green. They had to figure out, one where mc duff would be. And because of his nature and what they knew about him already, and regardless of burying the gun near roy green's homer apartment, they were worried,. The law enforcement was worried about mc duff being armed. So they wanted to kind of ambush him. But he gave himself up only after they shoot out his tires and arrest him with guns drawn - so there are some problems with his defence.
