Is There a Tax on Food?

I'm under the impression that there aren't really a lot of tariffs on food andand food isn't taxed, at least i don't think so. It seems like there there would be some kind of arbitrage there. But for some stuff like food, there's probably also regulation about testing and quality control and stuff. So somebody could potentially have like, a more luxurious life with far less income in one country than they can in another. And if you sta, part doesn't really make sense to me.
