The Camouflage Pattern

The french army wanted to create a situation where their soldiers could not be seen. They employed artists, in particular, a type of artist known as a camoflor. One of these camouflors was a fellow called louis guina who is credited with inventing the first camouflage pattern for military uniforms. But what guina did, because this was 19 14, would have been about five years after pecasso and those lads had invented cubism. So guina took from cubism by appropriating from cubism. The camouflage pattern doesn't simply just look like the background that you're trying to camouflage against, otherwise you dress up wearing bushes.
