The Importance of Humility in Philosophy

Iris Murdoch wrote to do philosophy is to explore one's temperament and yet at the same time to attempt to discover the truth. So does your temperament influence your philosophical work? And if so, how)? I think we should be asking and answering this question for our friends rather than for ourselves but I will try to say some things about it.
