The Evolution of Intelligent Life

No animal on any other planet is actually a metazoan, which is the technical term for an animal. So we're not really talking about plants and animals. We're talking about organisms that fulfill that niche to some extent or other. You can have a photosynthesizing animal. No reason why not. Groot is an animal. You might think he's a tree, but he's not. He's an animal. And so you make some compelling arguments why intelligent life at least elsewhere in the galaxy will also be like an animal as opposed to something truly bizarre such as fungal intelligence.
