The Attrition of Women in Tech
The demands of high tech working culture and the realities of long days, long commute times and inflexibility work schedule puts an extra toll on women. So here, our tech industry is a tightly bound bubble. We want to be more diverse, but we hire only from certain geographical pools. And there is just not enough divers talent within those locations to change the status quo. To make a significant impact, we need so many divers hires that will have to broaden the search well beyond the population available in commute zones. In early 20 20, pretty much all tech workers were abruptly told to go home and work from there. The disaster that was 20 20, 20 21 might have a silver lining.
