Jamison's Paranoid Reading

I can't think of any critics, certainly no critics I admire who do what this is. What they cite Jamison, they cite that concept, they cite the idea that he's engaged in a kind of paranoid reading. But then when they look at his actual articles or books, nobody is saying that's what he does. He devotes an entire relatively short book to a fascist because he finds in that person's work elements worthy of discussion. If you find a text that you don't think has any value artistically or politically or whatever, that may have more to do with the way you're reading it than the text itself.
