Aristotle's Happiness Theory
Aristotle's concept of udimonia, or human flourishing, has nothing to do with our contemporary conception of happiness. So a happiness, for aristotle, is about realizing the highest good in your own life and your particular life. And so one upshot of this is that you can't like, manipulate yourself into being happy. The only way you can be happy is by being virtuous.
