TikTok uses a complex system called recommender algorithms. York learned that since the algorithm's goal is to predict what videos people are most likely to watch, the algorithm will do its calculations and recommend his content to anyone who's likely curious and interested in watching videos about Jesus and the Bible. It doesn't matter whether they're Christian or not. What we see on TikTok is a set of algorithms that not only understands who I am, but it understands who I'm going to become.
