We're going to take a heart rate and a blood pressure. If the indicators are there it may also be worth taking a 12-lead ECG because myocardial infarction can also precipitate DKA. And we also need to think about the mental state. What's their GCS? Are they orientated? Are they mentally competent or are they confused and lethargic?
