The Body of a Woman Is Not a Vice but Nature

Augustine: Sexed bodies male and female are for Augustine the stuff of nature. God does not make us new by destroying nature, he saves us rather than some other creatures altogether. Maleness and femaleness are created goods but more they are redeemed goods that help us live our lives toward those good intentions we have forfeited. A sinful world may hate and despise female bodies and lots of other bodies too, but God loves them and plans to redeem them.
