Gerard Horace's sister, Clara, vanished one day when he was four. She left a note saying she loved him and wanted to be with him. He recalls seeing her through the window of an apartment they'd lived in earlier. The walls fell away; there on his lap-tray was a coke that had never been there before. "I did love her, and missed her," Gerard said.
