Noah webster's son in law, chauncy goodridgh, was editor of the new edition. Chauncey used yale faculty as his staff to make revisions and redo dictionary. New invention: sub senses for words such as "dry" or "beneath" A german etymologist rewrote a hundred per cent of Webster's etymologies.
