The Threat of Extinct Species
Up to a million species are threatened with extinction, like many within decades right now. The Earth's normal rate of extinction prior to human activity was about one species out of a million every year. So that basically means that the flora and the fauna may be disappearing at a thousand times higher than they have throughout history.
