Thank You Letters Are Not Thank You Notes
Alistair MacKinnon: We're all caught up in the economy of gift and in the practice of gratitude. He says that both Jesus and Paul were perceived within Roman society as ingrates, exactly because they referred all gifts back to God. McKinnon: If someone gives you a gift, it really is appropriate and often sufficient to express thanksgiving to God for that gift. That's why you don't have to send thank you letters after ever.
